Donald Fagan

There are many vocalists/artists who struggle to establish their musical identity. There are also others that emerge fully formed, in full command of their craft. Don Fagan fits firmly in the latter category. His new project with Headknocker, is a captivating and moving debut of the music of Foreigner. A Wisconsin native, who grew up in the Milwaukee metro area, Don played trumpet, guitar, and also was in Choir. He didn’t take music seriously until he was in his early 20’s. He explains, “I started taking vocal lessons, and it took my interest in music to another level. After a few years of professional vocal lessons, I was eager to look for a band that was looking for a Front Man.” Almost immediately, he helped formed a five-piece band called Centerfold and began playing local bars/clubs, going through what he calls, “the ‘80’s hair rock lifestyle.” Throughout the ‘80’s and early ‘90’s, he co-wrote original music with Centerfold and another band called Tracer Bullet. Then later in the 2000’s, he continued be engaged with other projects such as singing on the Worship Team at a local church. In 2014, he started a studio project with the former members of Centerfold to record a few original songs. He explains, “The studio experience was an eye opener for me. It revealed that my vocals were stronger than ever.” In May, 2015, Don was approach by Dave Sundeen (drummer/vocals), and Tom Hunter (guitar/keyboards/vocals), to help start a new project, a Foreigner Tribute band. This was the beginning of the formation of Headknocker, a tribute to the music of Foreigner. “This project is gaining momentum,” Don says. “With the band, we’re clicking, and there’s a lot of energy and excitement to bring the music of Foreigner to the masses!”
